Dear Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 74th Congress of Psychologists of Serbia, titled “In Search of New Patterns: Between Digital and Social (R)evolutions.”
Contemporary psychological practice is marked by daily confrontation with serious and long-lasting challenges. We live in a time of rapid technological change, as well as profound social crises that affect individuals’ and communities’ sense of security, trust, and predictability. In such circumstances, psychologists are expected to respond to increasingly complex societal needs, often under conditions of heightened uncertainty and numerous systemic constraints. The position of the profession is further complicated by the fact that, for decades, we have faced insufficiently defined and developed legal and institutional frameworks, limited support, and the absence of sustainable systemic solutions.
A particular challenge lies in the powerful global influence of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, which increasingly mediate and shape our psychological functioning. Artificial intelligence is no longer merely a technological tool, but a mediator that significantly transforms processes of learning, work, communication, decision-making, and identity construction.
In this context, the question of responsibility acquires special importance. Advocating for a society that provides optimal conditions for the psychological development and well-being of every individual, while continuously re-examining the adequacy of psychological practice in changing and often crisis-ridden circumstances, constitutes an integral part of the professional and social responsibility of psychologists.
This year’s Congress is conceived as a space for shared dialogue, exchange, and the search for new patterns of understanding, action, and professional positioning. Through plenary lectures, symposia, thematic sections, round tables, panel discussions, and workshops, we will open a dialogue on the role of psychology in times of digital and social (r)evolutions; on the challenges and opportunities related to the application of artificial intelligence; as well as on preserving professional values and standards in the context of prolonged social crises. As in previous years, the Congress welcomes a broad range of scientific and professional topics from all areas of psychology.
We invite you to contribute to this important exchange of knowledge, experience, and perspectives through your participation. We believe that only through open dialogue, critical reflection, and a shared search for new patterns can we respond to the challenges of our time and build a psychology that is socially responsible, scientifically grounded, and professionally empowered.
We look forward to your participation and to our shared meetings.
Sincerely,
The Program Committee of the 74th Congress of Serbian Psychologists
